I actually went to this location, called Hideaways Beach on Kauai's north shore, with my wife for a nice day of rest and relaxation along with a little snorkeling for good measure. At the last minute I decided to bring my camera and just two rolls of film. When I arrived I was just blown away by the raw, colorful beauty of this tropical location. When photographing the image you see here, I was actually waiting for the snorkeler to GET OUT of my view. But the closer he swam towards me, the more I started to like what I saw with him being in the scene, giving it scale, context and adding an, "I wish I was there" element altogether. I took only a few frames before he was gone. |
