Photo: Wailua Falls is located in the east side of Kauai. This was the same waterfall used in the television show Fantasy Island. I had to climb over the protective fence and stand on the edge of this cliff to capture the bottom of the waterfall in this photo. Not recommended! For most waterfall images it is better to photograph when conditions are overcast because it eliminates shadows and allows consistent lighting throughout. But in this particular photo, having the sun out and shining away provided the very obvious, and beautiful benefit of a Rainbow. Waterfalls AND rainbows --photographed together-- are always a spectacular combination to behold. |
